The Georges seek compensation for medical expenses and damages related to emotional distress and loss of enjoyment of life.

In response to the litigation, Taylor Farms has publicly denied any connection to the outbreak, asserting that they conducted thorough testing of both raw and finished products and found no evidence of contamination. The company emphasized that their processing methods comply with USDA-verified wash protocols.

This incident is not the first for Taylor Farms; the company previously faced scrutiny in October due to another E. coli outbreak linked to contaminated onion products, which prompted a recall of certain items used in popular fast-food hamburgers.

According to an internal report, by the time the likely source was determined, the contaminated lettuce was no longer on the market.
