Despite this recommendation, the Probation Department continued to operate the hall, facing legal challenges and public outcry over its conditions.

Judge Espinoza’s approval of the relocation plan follows a legal challenge initiated by the L.A. County Public Defender’s Office. The plan aims to reduce the number of detainees at Los Padrinos to comply with state regulations.
