Violence Erupts in South Los Angeles: Two Fatal Shootings Over the Weekend

Over the weekend, South Los Angeles was shaken by a series of shootings, resulting in two fatalities and a critical injury. First Incident: Teenage Victim
The first shooting took place on Friday evening around 7:30 p.m. in the 700 block of East 108th Street. A 13-year-old girl was struck by gunfire while at home, sustaining severe injuries. Emergency communications indicated that multiple shots—at least six—were fired, accompanied by chaotic scenes of shouting by witnesses.
Despite efforts to save her, the young girl succumbed to her injuries on Sunday. Authorities have not made any arrests in this case, and the possibility of gang involvement remains unclear.
Second Incident: Adult Woman Shot
On Saturday afternoon, another shooting occurred in the 10200 block of South San Pedro Street. Here, a woman in her early thirties was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead after being rushed to a local hospital. A vigil with candles was held near the site of the shooting, as community members mourned her loss.
Third Incident: Early Morning Shooting
In a separate incident early Sunday morning, at approximately 4:15 a.m., a man was shot in the vicinity of 103rd Street and Avalon Boulevard. Witnesses reported that two men in a blue truck approached the victim’s vehicle and opened fire. The injured man is currently in critical condition and receiving medical treatment.
