Gabriela Windey and Robby Hoffman: A Spontaneous Las Vegas Wedding Amidst Crisis
A Unique Start to Their Journey
In a dramatic turn of events, reality TV personality Gabriela Windey and comedian Robby Hoffman tied the knot in Las Vegas. Their wedding, which occurred on January 7, 2023, followed a harrowing evacuation from their home in Los Angeles County due to severe firestorms.
Unforeseen Circumstances
The couple, accompanied by their cat and a treasured painting belonging to Hoffman’s grandfather, found refuge in Las Vegas after struggling to secure accommodations in Palm Springs. Upon arrival, they were unexpectedly upgraded to a luxurious penthouse suite.
“We got to Vegas at 7:30 in the morning, and they gave us the penthouse suite,” Hoffman shared. “It looked like a wedding suite. Gabby turned to me and she went, ‘Should we get married?’”
Love in Unlikely Times
The couple made their relationship public in August 2023, prior to Windey’s participation in the third season of the Peacock competition series “Traitors.” Windey, 34, previously gained attention as a contestant on various shows within the Bachelor franchise and as a runner-up on Season 31 of “Dancing With the Stars.”
Hoffman, 35, noted that she had been proposing throughout their relationship. During their hotel stay, she expedited a plan to formally propose with a personalized crossword puzzle that read, “Will you marry me Gabby?”
A Simple Yet Meaningful Ceremony
That evening, the couple exchanged vows in a ceremony that cost a mere $799. Windey described her wedding dress as an off-white lace garment she spotted in a department store. “It was a little tight and made my butt look huge, but it was perfect,” she remarked. “Everything just fell into place so naturally. It felt so serendipitous.”
The officiant, who wore red sneakers, contributed to the charm of the event, and their wedding photographer, affectionately known as Big Nate, played a pivotal role in capturing the essence of the celebration.
“Big Nate captured our essence. We walked down the aisle to ‘H-O-T T-O G-O,’ Chappell Roan,” Windey noted, adding that Hoffman brought her signature swagger to the portrait session.
Returning Home
Following the ceremony, the couple returned home to Los Angeles, picking up air purifiers amidst uncertainty about their house’s condition. “We got so lucky. We really didn’t know how our house would turn out. All we knew was we had each other and felt home in each other,” Hoffman explained.
