Marc Dubin, an ADA consultant and lawyer, noted that although the guidance was not legally enforceable, it served a vital role in averting lawsuits by encouraging compliance. The executive director of the National Council on Independent Living, Theo Braddy, remarked that inclusive business practices can foster customer loyalty and enhance revenue. “Fully accessible businesses will attract a broader customer base, resulting in increased spending,” he stated.

Chai Feldblum, a former vice chair of the Biden administration’s AbilityOne Commission, noted that the absence of a proactive Justice Department could have serious implications for the rights of people with disabilities. “A strong and vigilant Department of Justice is crucial for safeguarding these rights,” Feldblum explained.
