The crash occurred shortly after 2 p.m. at the CarMax located at 8600 South La Cienega Boulevard. According to local authorities, the driver had been involved in a dispute with dealership staff prior to the incident.

Among the eight injured, two individuals sustained critical injuries and were transported to trauma centers for treatment. Both customers and employees of CarMax were affected during the chaos, though fortunately, no fatalities were reported.

Disturbed by his behavior, including waving a metal water bottle and jumping on a parked vehicle, the witness and his wife decided to leave the dealership before the situation escalated further.

After the incident, the driver fled but later surrendered to authorities at a nearby Los Angeles Police Department Recruit Training Center, as confirmed by Inglewood Police Sergeant Cesar Jurado.
